I have had a play about by using MSPaint to overlay the Code 100 image (reduced to 91%) onto the Code 75 image. I thought this was going to be a feature on the new version of Anyrail, but seems not.

I have the Cadrail software, where at least you can access the libraries and adjust them. I do wonder how Anyrail and the other CAD people get their measurements. I think there are other small differences in terms of the angle through which the turnouts turn but without asking Peco for more detailed information (on my round tuit list) it is difficult to be exact. You will find that the inner curved rails of the code 75 extend about 12mm beyond the code 100 and the outer curved rails extend about 9mm. Overlay it on that of the code 75 such that the rails at the frog end align with one another. It hard to translate Dutch expressions into English, think of the Dutch football trainer, Louis van Gaal, you cannot translate it 1 to 1.Easiest way to show the main difference is to print out the templates I linked to in my post. If you assign a rail piece with a height on level zero, it will connect to the start point. There is only one connection point on that level, in this case 30, the blue dot appears, and the job is done. You can connect a turnout, or any other piece to the end or start point, if the correct height is assigned to that turnout or rail piece. The end point is in the horizontal plane at level 30. The helix is always a 360 degree circle, where the start point and end point are 180 degrees opposite to each other.īut the start point and end point are not in the same horizontal plane, the start point is in the horizontal plane at level 0.

The next step is to select the curved flex and activate the Helix option. Then I bend the straight flex in the desired angle (60 degrees and the radius xx CM). the starting point is at ground level, so value zero. I was using set track rather than flexi as that was the track I intended to lay (I'm sure you realise what a pain flexi is to create multiple turns of curved flexi without creating knuckle at the joints) but does this make any difference to creating the trackplan?
